The History of the New Hope Baptist Church

New Hope Baptist Church was first built as a log cabin in 1865 on a piece of land near where the current church stands today. The first offering brought in $3.77 which provided the down payment for the land it now sits on. The church sat on 1.5 acres of land at that time. Elder Joseph Carey served as the first Pastor. New Hope has been rebuilt twice, once because the building was condemned and second due to a fire. The church was rebuilt under the leadership of Rev. C.S. Hughes in 1940.

Our last pastor retired after 14 years of faithful service. We are seeking a new shepherd.  Today New Hope is a church home to over 200 members.
